Updated Front Entrance

A HUGE THANK YOU to Eagle Scout Jack Helton for revamping Navy’s front entrance!

Jack’s Eagle Scout project included taking out ALL the non-native species in both beds to the left and right of the school’s front entrance. He redesigned the spaces, adding a bordered area with Virginia Native plants on both sides, and a stepping stone path down to a new Dogwood tree. He also added a design map to help identify the plants. A major benefit of Native plants is that they are low in maintenance and thrive in their natural environment. Check out their growth in just one month! Once they are established, they are also easy to manage and beautiful. Please come check out the new design and plants. You might find something to add to your garden beds at home!

Girl Scout Troop 5780 purchased the Dogwood for the project. All other plants were purchased with PTO Eco-Schools funds. Thank you to the PTO and Troop 5780!
